While using the standard method (TPBE-mode) for the measurement of wall thickness and sound velocity the probe will be placed on the uncoated material.
The new ECHOMETER 1076 TC performs even better: Varnish or plastic coatings up to a thickness of approx. 4 mm can be blanked out to measure the wall thickness also through the coating. The calculation of the measurement result then will be carried out with the aid of consecutive backwall echoes (BE-BE-mode).
