Foerster FEREX® 4.032 DLG / Karto
Ferrous Locator with 4 Channel Data Logger
FEREX®. The renowned vertical gradient fluxgate magnetometer that measures the deformation of the earth’s magnetic field evoked by ferromagnetic objects. The FEREX® Magnetometers are suitable for the detection of ferromagnetic metals like iron, steel or nickel. Normally the detection depth of FEREX® magnetometers is larger compared to active EMI detectors but it varies and depends on the object’s mass and its magnetic properties. The FEREX 4.032 DLG® can be used either in the direct indicating FEREX® mode or in the data logging mode. Four data logging channels allow the expansion of the FEREX 4.032 DLG® to a multi probe system for large area detection. Furthermore it can be upgraded to the FEREX 4.032 DLG Karto® model which comes with a GPS-interface for geo-referencing and navigation.

German Made – what does it really mean?
‘Made in Germany’
Stands for quality products!
Stands for top-notch engineering!
Stands for world-class instruments!
The reputation of high quality German instruments is very valuable for the German economy as a whole. German companies use the ‘Made in Germany’ label to communicate the quality of their products to customers everywhere.
This highly prised benchmark statement is held in great regard worldwide.
In this disposable world, does longevity still mean something? we believe it does. Many a client has purchased and inferior Asian made product only to find it falls short of their expectations.
Value as well as capability still remains part of your most important purchasing decision.
Next time you are considering an instrument purchase, remember how our forefathers felt;
“The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten”
– Benjamin Franklin
KK&S Instruments continue to exclusively represent these Quality German Brands;

NEW!Metal Detector for greater depth
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The METEX 4.250 is an active metal detector for targets at depths up to 3.3 m. Its large search coil allows the detection of all conductive metal types regardless if you search in soil or shallow water. Due to its larger power output the main purpose of the METEX 4.250 is to locate objects that cannot be detected by conventional mine detectors due to their greater depth.
Characteristics
• Electro-magnetic pulse induction technology (EMI)
• High sensitivity for all kind of metals in soil or shallow water
• Automatic tracking function for soil compensation
• Simultaneous operation of multiple systems in close vicinity possible
• Detection depth up to 3.3 m depending on size, geometry, orientation of the target and soil/environmental conditions;
– 25 mm HE: up to 0.7 m
– BLU26: up to 1.0 m
– 155 mm HE: up to 2.5 m
– Mk 82: up to 3.3 m
Coil
• Size approx. 1 x 1 m
• 2.5 m connection cable to control unit
• Watertight rugged housing
• 2 carrying straps for handling by 2 operators
• Optional wheel set for handling by 1 operator
Control unit
• Analogue meter indication of target detection, tracking range and battery status
• Adjustable audio indication of target detection, switch off when using headphones
• Manual offset compensation
• Adjustable parameters like: transmitting power, gain, evaluation time and pulse frequency
• Carrying harness Point

Application:
Inspection of steel ball stud components, to verify heat treatment condition. Parts are tested inside the hex head area (threaded side).
Material identification:
M12 – 75 x 49.00 Ball Stud.
Good parts are properly heat treated to HRc 32-38.
Rejects are parts that are partially heat-treated and annealed or parts that are un-heat treated.
Test instrument and probe:
DEFECTOMETER 2.837 portable crack
detector with standard Ferrous pencil probe
2.835.01-3000 and probe cable 1460188/2.837.01.
Test setup and procedure:
1. Connect probe and turn the instrument on.
2. Hold the probe in air and press “Liftoff.
3. Place the probe on the good master part
and press “Zero”.
4. Place the probe on the good master part
(properly heat treated) and verify a 0%
signal on the instrument display.
5. Place the probe on the reject master part
(improperly heat treated) and adjust the
gain until the signal amplitude exceeds the
80% threshold on the instrument display.
6. Recheck the good master part to verify
a 0% signal amplitude. Press “Zero” if
required.
7. Begin testing parts with unknown condition.
And there you have it! Non-destructive verification of reject component.
